HCC to play Suns in exhibition game
Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Mon, 01/24/2005 - 1:00am
The Hagerstown Community College Hawks baseball team will take on the Hagerstown Suns in an exhibition game at Municipal Stadium on Tuesday, April 5 at 6:35 p.m.
“This is a great opportunity for our players,” said HCC Athletic Director Brian Beck. “To be able to take the field with the Suns will be a huge thrill for the team, our alumni and fans.”
The exhibition game will last a minimum of seven innings with the Suns as the “home” team.
“This is a significant, first-of-its-kind event for Hagerstown,” said Suns General Manager Kurt Landes. “It’s important for our team and players to interact with the community and to understand the importance of giving back. I can think of no better way to kick-off our 25th anniversary season.”
Tickets for the event, which are $5 for general admission, will be available in early February and can be purchased by contacting the HCC Athletic Department at 301-790-2800, ext. 289. Proceeds from advance ticket sales will benefit the HCC general athletic scholarship fund.
