The Director of Athletics, Physical Education and Leisure Studies is responsible for HCC's intercollegiate athletic programs. The Director is also responsible for physical education and leisure studies programs, spanning both credit and non-credit offerings. This position plays a key role, along with the Director of Human Resources and the Health Sciences Division Director, in implementing a campus wellness program, for both employees and students. Interfacing with the Washington County Department of Recreation and Parks on joint activities and coordinated use of College and County facilities is also an important part of the job.

Qualifications:
Education and experience - Master's degree in physical education, sports administration or related field; five years minimum experience with athletic programs, with coaching experience preferred; experience in a supervisory or administrative position, preferably in education; teaching experience with college teaching experience preferred; familiarity with policies and procedures of national, regional, and state athletic associations.
Skills and abilities - Strong administrative, managerial, supervisory skills and conflict resolution abilities including: effective interpersonal skills; strong communication skills, both orally and in writing; ability to plan and assign work to others; ability to design and manage budgets; ability to access information from a networked computer system; ability to work with standard computer applications; and ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and projects.
