Associate Dean of Instructional Technology & Online Education #12-072

Hagerstown Community College (HCC) is accepting applications for the new position of Associate Dean of Instructional Technology and Online Education.  The Associate Dean will be responsible for providing services to further expand and strengthen HCC's sustantial enrollment growth in on-line and hybrid credit and credit-free offerings, as well as supervise instructional technology support personnel.  This position, which reports directly to the President, works most closely with the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dean of Continuing Education, and the Director of Information Technology. 

HCC currently serves about 3,500 distance education students taking more than 100 different courses.  The College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.  It serves about 7,000 credit and 9,000 credit free students annually and has a campus composed of 319 acres and 12 buildings, including a business incubation center and a continuing education conference facilty.

Qualifications: 
Masters's degree required; doctorate degree preferred; at least 5 years of administrative experience in higher education with substantial involvement in: teaching and/or instructional technology support and/or information technogy and/or distance education; at least 3 years of full-time experience delivering online higher education or adult learning courses, including direct experience in developing, managing, and evaluating on-line courses and programs; demonstrated knowledge of distance education program enhancement strategies, evaluation tools, professional development protocols, and related marketing and student recruitment; evidence of substantial accomplishments with online and distance learning programs as defined through both quantitative and qualitative measures; demonstrated ability to collaborate with campus and community partners in meeting a variety of instructional technology and distance education goals; successful project management and supervisory experience involving various instructional and student services areas; demonstrated ability in financial budgeting and management and a working knowledge of computerized enrollment management models; and excellent writing, speaking and listening skills.
