Student Email Accounts Guide
Welcome to Student Email a web-based email interface.
Using Student Email
Student Email provides an Inbox, calendar, and personal, shared, and public address books. You can customize your Email account by creating multiple folders and calendars. In addition you can forward, (cc) and (bcc) messages, schedule appointments, create and assign tasks to yourself and others, create notes, and create and manage contacts.
Logging In
Open a browser and use the following URL: http://www.hagerstowncc.edu/current-students/email
Select "Login to Student Email" and provide your Username and Password. Username is your email address.
Using Mail Messages
New messages will be received in your Inbox. Click on a message you want to review in the preview pane. If you want to completely open the message – double-click. Once a message is open, you can Reply, Reply to All, Forward, Delete, and Print the message. You can navigate forward and back through your message by clicking Previous and Next.
Message Actions List
By Right Clicking a highlighted message you will open the Item Action List. Listed here will be options. Move, Copy, Mark as Private, Read Later and Forward are just a few of these options.
To Save an Attachment
In the message Attachments field, click the Attachment link. The browser opens a dialog box providing options for handling the attachment. Click Save. The file will then be saved to the location specified.
To Compose Messages
From the Toolbar, click New Message. Click To, Cc or Bcc and add contacts from your Address Book. You may also type the recipient email address in directly. Separate multiple addresses with semicolons, commas, or spaces. Click Attach if you are adding an attachment to your message. Click Send Options to set message priority. Select Return Receipt if you would like to be notified that the message was received.
To Delete an Email
Highlight the message and click the delete button at the top of the page. The message will then have a line through it to indicate it's deleted. To permanently remove the deleted message, right click on the message and click delete permanently. Once you delete a message permanently, it is gone forever.
To View Appointments
In the Folder List click Calendar. Click the date you would like to review.
To Schedule an Appointment
Click the Calendar. Select a block of time the appointment will occupy. In the compose window select contacts. You must include Yourself in the to field to be added to the calendar. Specify a Location. Use the Start Time drop down list to choose time. Use Duration time to specify duration. Under Until you can specify a reoccurring appointment. Click Send when Completed.
Use Notes
Click New Message. Use the drop down list to select Note. In the compose window choose a Recipient. You must specify yourself to have a note for yourself. Specify the date you want the note to appear in the recipient’s calendar. Click Send when finished.
Adding Contacts
In the Folder List click Contacts. In the toolbar click New Contact. Type the contact's First and Last Name. Type an Email address. Include any additional information. Click Save.
