The Hagerstown Community College Foundation, Inc. will host a reception, show and sale of paintings by R. Benjamin Jones on November 19 and 20 in the Kepler Theater. Constitution Day

Hagerstown Community College will host its annual Constitution Day event on Tues., Sept. 14, beginning at 11:30 a.m., in the Student Center on HCC’s main campus.

The event will feature local author Linda Heinrich and her husband Brian. Heinrich and her husband will speak about her recently self-published book, “Jason’s Helmet,” which tells the story of her uncle, Jason Barron, who died during World War II at the age of 23.

Hedge Apple Release Party

The annual release party for HCC's Literary Magazine, the Hedge Apple, will be held on Thurs., Nov. 18, in the Career Programs Building, beginning at 6 p.m. Join contributors for pizza, ambiance, and an informal reading of fiction and poetry from the 2010 Hedge Apple. Break-out writing activities will be held after the reading.

This event is free and is open to the public.

Writers Master Class with Bobbie Ann Mason

English Club members are invited to attend a Writers Master Class with Bobbie Ann Mason at Shepherd University on Wed., Sept. 29, beginning at 3 p.m. Transportation will provided. HCC has partnered with a newly forming local opera group, the Hub Opera Ensemble, to present a performance of G.F. Handel’s Ariodante on Fri., Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m. and Sun., Sept. 26 at 2:30 p.m., in HCC’s Kepler Theater.
