HCC’s Student Government and Student Life Committee host “Girls Night Out”

In celebration of Women’s History Month, HCC's Student Government Association and Student Life Committee are hosting a “Girls Night Out” movie night in the Kepler Theater on March 27. The movie night will feature Julian Jarrold’s historical classic Becoming Jane, starring Anne Hathaway.

HCC students perform free lunchtime concerts

During the month of March, two Hagerstown Community College students will perform free lunchtime concerts at the College Center on the campus of HCC.

Stand-up comedian Daniel Lopez to perform at HCC

As a member of NACA and APCA, Lopez is well-known for entertaining college audiences throughout the United States and has showcased at the APCA National Conference. He is the first stand-up comedian to perform at HCC since 2002.

HCC honor society inducts new members

Phi Theta Kappa, the national honor society at HCC, recently inducted 71 new members. To be eligible for the honor, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher and must have completed 12 credit hours of college-level work as a full-time student, or 15 credit hours of college-level work as a part-time student.

Credit score seminar offered through HCC

HCC’s Center for Continuing Education is offering the seminar “Your Credit Score: How It Works and How to Improve It” on Tues., April 8, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., in the HCC Valley Mall Center.

National Marionette Theatre performs at HCC

The National Marionette Theatre will perform “Peter and the Wolf,” the latest in a long list of world-renowned puppet productions, on Sunday, March 30, in the Kepler Theater.

Maryland property and casualty insurance licensing course offered through HCC

HCC’s Center for Continuing Education is offering an MODA Systems, Inc. property and casualty course for those interested in learning the basic principles of property and casual insurance, as well as the Maryland regulations.

HCC to offer course in assessment of post-traumatic stress

 HCC, in collaboration with Brook Lane Health Services, is offering a three-hour seminar entitled, "Assessment and Management of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder," on Friday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to noon, in the Kepler Theater.

HCC to host HVACR journeymen exam prep seminar

The seminar is intended to help contractors prepare for the exam offered through the Maryland State Board of HVACR Contractors and will review key exam topics including electrical, motors and controls, piping, refrigeration and air conditioning, heating systems, VAV boxes, air distribution systems, and safety.

HCC hosts first Guitar Mini-Fest

The HCC Guitar Mini-Fest will feature a host of musical workshops by several outstanding musicians including Risa Carlson, Tobias Hurwitz, Candice Mowbray and Michael Raitzyk. Mowbray will host the event and was recently awarded a grant from the Washington County Council for the Arts.
