HCC announces largest grant in college’s history

Hagerstown Community College has been awarded a three-year, $1.65 million grant to expand its Commercial Vehicle Transportation program to meet the increased workforce needs of trucking, warehousing and manufacturing businesses in the tri-state region. Entitled Project I-70/I-81 Crossroads, the grant was funded as part of President George Bush’s Community-Based Job Training Grant program. The award was announced by the U.S. Department of Labor on October 19.

“This is exciting news for HCC,” said Dr. Guy Altieri, president of Hagerstown Community College. “The Commercial Vehicle Transportation program has produced more than 700 graduates since 1995, and businesses depend on the college to provide well-trained employees.

HCC appoints DuBois and Auldridge for Career Center

HCC recently appointed two people to serve key roles in its Career Center. Melissa DuBois was hired as coordinator of career development and workplace learning. Angie Auldridge was named workplace learning and business resource specialist.

Anderson wins scholarship at college seminar

At a recent seminar held at Hagerstown Community College, Waynisha Anderson was randomly chosen to receive a $1000 scholarship for the college of their choice.

Computer CPR Clinic at HCC

HCC names Oleks as VP of academic affairs
